For your event, party, wedding, or poetic residency (from hotel lobbies to art galleries to shops, bistros, & bars) I’ll delight your guests by writing poems—crafted & personalized just for them—on a vintage manual typewriter. Everyone will have a treasured memory to keep, forever connecting them to you & your event or place of business.
After being invited to write poems for guests at a friend's party, John Ebersole witnessed first-hand the joy his words (& the sound of a working typewriter) brought to people & soon after he decided to launch Event Poet.
John received his MFA in poetry from Columbia University & now directs the writing center at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. He's also editor of Tourniquet Review, a literary magazine that publishes book reviews & has been covered in The New York Times & Guardian. His own poetry has appeared in numerous literary journals & he's read his work widely on various stages in NYC & Philadelphia.
Born & raised in Florida, he's proud to call Pennsylvania his home, where he lives with his wife & daughter. In addition to his love of poetry & teaching, John enjoys spending time with his family & friends & playing soccer every Wednesday night in Wayne, PA.
